HDFC provides world-class online banking services. The internet banking & mobile banking best in all. Bank provides Internet banking services by default to all customers along with the welcome kit. You can log in and see your account activity but to do transaction you have to activate this service online by yourself. You can do this by three ways.
- Using Phone banking
- Register with login into Net Banking account
- Personally, visiting the branch
Here we will discuss about the second option which is how to register with login in into internet banking account for the services.
HDFC bank net banking registration
You can register for internet banking service by two methods.
- With pre kit
- Without pre kit
The first-time login process using Pre kit involves following steps.
To use your internet banking service, you have to activate internet banking service online by registering for third party fund transfer. The predicate provided login ID and password only for the login purpose you can view your account balance but you cannot do any transfer and other banking activities to do this you have to register first.

You can activate your internet banking online in simple steps.
Step 1
Visit the official website HDFC bank and click on ‘log in’ and next click on ‘continue’ to the login tab.
Next select internet banking and click on log in.
Then a new page will open. Click on ‘Continue’ net banking & you will be on Log in page.
Enter the login ID and password you received with welcome kit. Login ID is basically your customer id you can find it on your bank passbook.
Step 2:
After you successfully login in into your account you will have to set a new password. The password you got in kit is for temporary use purpose so you have to change it when you login for first time. Enter the old password in first box after that create a new password enter. Confirm the new password by retyping it into the box click on terms and condition checkbox and confirm. Password will be successfully changed and you can login into your account with this new password or IPIN.
Step 3:
Go to the login page and enter your login ID and password and log in. Now to activate internet banking facility for fund transfer and other operations you have to register for third party transfer.
Click on fund and you will see a message saying that you are not registered to the third-party transfer. So, click on register now tab.
After you click on register now the terms and condition page will open read all the terms and conditions. Now checkbox for terms and condition and click on ‘Confirm’.
Step 4:
Next page you will see ATM card number, click on ATM number and options to enter your ATM PIN and card expiry date will open. Enter your ATM PIN and expiry date of card and click on confirm.
Step 5:
After that a new option REGISTER NOW will be displayed. Click on ‘Register Now’.
Mark the checkbox for mobile number and click on continue. An OTP will be sent on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and click on ‘Continue’.
Step 6:
Hereafter the process will be completed in 3 steps. To proceed click on ‘Continue’.
In the First step you have to select a profile image. You can add a message below it. Enter the message below the image. Which you wanted to display at the time of login process this profile image is used for verification purpose only at the time of login. Set the image and click on proceed to step 2.
In this step some security questions need to be set. you will be provided with 5 security questions select equation as per your choice you can change the question if you want. Now select answer for each question and remember these answers. After that click on proceed to step 3
Step 3 is basically the verification state where all the data you entered in step 1 escape 2 will be shown. You have to confirm all the data and if you want to change or correct anything you can do in this day.
Once you do this click on confirm. After you click on confirm a message for successful registration for third party transfer will be displayed. Now you can use your internet banking service to transfer funds as you have successfully register for third party transfer.
How to Know Customer ID online?
If you do not get welcome kit from HDFC and you wanted to register for internet banking online you can find your customer id online. go to the go to the login page and click on forgot user id. on the next page you have to enter your card details, atm pin and pan card number after that enter the captcha code and click on continue.
After that OTB OTP will be received on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP and click on continue. As soon as you can continue a message with your customer id will be displayed using this customer ID you can login in into your account.
How to recover the password?
If you forgot your log in password, you can recover it with two option.
A. with OTP sent on your mobile and debits card information
B. with OTP sent on your registered Mobile number and registered email id.
A. Using OTP and debit card
To rest your log in password, visit the HDFC Net banking log in page. Enter your log in of and click on continue. After that click on forgot password link at the bottom of box. After that you will be redirected to new page. Here you will be asked to choose one option out of the above. Select the option with OTP and debit card and proceed
On the next page you have enter your registered mobile no and a n top will be sent on this number. Enter the otp , debit card number and Pin and mark this box of terms and condition. After that Click on submit after verification of the otp ,create new passwords and retype it to confirm. Once you done click on submit. And Your password will be reset. The success message will appear on screen.
B. With separate OTP on Mobile Number and Email id.
In this option, two separate OTP will be sent on your registered email address and registered mobile number. After entering both into you will be provided with the option to create new log in password. In this way you can reset your password for login.
